Brittany's Project: "The Art of Respect"
04.08.2014 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Brittany's Project and The South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority will be offering a day devoted to celebrating the gifts and friendship of Louisiana citizens who live with intellectual, developmental and/or physical disabilities, The Art of Respect. A day to support the ongoing national effort to raise the consciousness of society about the dehumanizing and hurtful effects of the R-word. On Tuesday, 4/8/14, we are inviting students, schools, and communities to challenge everyone to think before they speak and replace the R-word with a different word - respect. Let's work together to show Louisiana what acceptance, inclusion, friendship, unity and RESPECT look like through art. For more information or to register, contact Sandra Saucier (Brittany's Project) at 337-828-2284 or Katherine Drexler (St. Mary Parish Schools) at 337-828-1767. Event being held at the Patterson Civic Center. Sessions are from 9am-10:30am, 11am-12:30pm, 1pm-2:30pm, and 3pm-4:30pm. Free and first come, first serve. They are also seeking volunteers.
